Lawrence I. Seim

 

SEIM, Lawrence I., age 81, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away June 26, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rosson Seim; his son, Albert D. Seim II and his wife, Kathryn; his daughter, Patricia Mundy and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Matthew Mundy, Scott Mundy, and Daniel Seim; a sister, Norma Seim of Stratham, N.H. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mayno Seim of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Shaw; and two brothers, Emerson Seim and Karl Seim. Larry attended the University of Dayton, Stevens Institute of Technology and graduated from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. He entered the Navy's Aviation Midshipman program, earned his wings in 1947, and flew fighter missions from the carrier U.S.S. Leyte during the Korean War. His love of flying kept him piloting as a hobby until late in life, at times flying mercy missions to lend a helping hand to others. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company with 30 years of service, and later worked 10 years for the Department of Defense at Fort Lee, Virginia.
