Ed Peterman


petermanpetermanPETERMAN Sr.,EDWARD Edward Peterman Sr., a long time North County resident, passed away on March 26, 2010. Ed was born on October 28, 1928, in Alexandria, LA. He was raised on the family farm as a member of a large family. Ed served in the Navy for 24 years as an Air Craft Carrier Aviator and supply officer, attaining the rank of Commander. He had many fond memories of his experiences and comrades. Mr. Peterman also worked as an executive with Solar Turbines in San Diego for more than 15 years before his second retirement. Ed was a man of great integrity and high moral character. A woodworker and jack of all trades who could do most anything, he enjoyed helping his friends. He was an Officer and a gentleman, a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He took great pleasure in being involved in his grandchildren's lives. Mr. Peterman was a hunter and fisherman whose favorite vacation was fishing for salmon in Alaska. He loved to travel with his wife Nita. He is survived by his loving wife Nita; his children, Edward Peterman Jr. of El Cajon, Cathy (Dennis) Pruitt of Elko, NV, Linda Amor of San Marcos, and Phillip Peterman of Chehalis, WA; his step-children, Wayne (Leticia) Hadjes of Perris, CA, Kathi (Lou) Melendez of Gig Harbor, WA, and David Hadjes of Bella Vista, AR; his siblings, Albert Peterman of Folsom, LA, Alice Matthews of Alexandria, LA, Elaine Squyres of Alexandria, LA, and Ruth Blanchard of Lottie, LA; his grandchildren Desireè, Roman, Charles, Danielle, David, Kristin, Kevin, Kristi, Jeff, Kenny, Holidais, Janelle and Rebecca; his seven great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son Michael and brothers Henry and Richard. A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido. Memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to John Hopkins University for pan-creatic cancer research or the Salvation Army. Arrangements are by Alhiser-Comer Mortuary.
